In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, College of Medicine's faculty are transforming the world of medicine every day. The University of Cincinnati Cancer Program is looking to fill a patient facing position as a Clinical Research Assistant. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities. Under general supervision, the Clinical Research Assistant will provide support and assistance for the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office (CTO).Duties can span a broad range of activities or can be primarily focused within one or more areas of the clinical research spectrum. Please note this is aFULL-TIME, ON-SITEposition. NOTE:This position does not qualify for Visa sponsorship. Essential Functions Complete training and follow established CTO workflows and CTO/UC Health standard operating procedures. Screen physician and clinic schedules for patients who meet eligibility criteria for assigned clinical trials. In conjunction with the investigator, consent participants to minimal risk clinical trials. These trials include sample collection, retrospective data collection, and/or questionnaire collection studies. Prepare biospecimen collection supplies, including hand off instructions for the clinical nurse(s), phlebotomist(s), and/or surgeons, and ensure processing laboratory has adequate notification to prepare for incoming samples. Coordinate collection, documentation, transportation, and shipment of research biospecimens as needed. Process and ship research biospecimens as needed. Complete financial documentation as needed for research patient visits. Maintain/Update patients' status and visit completions in the Clinical Trial Management System. Along with team, maintain Team's biospecimen collection kit inventory, re-ordering supplies as needed. Accurately enter data from electronic and/or paper research charts into study-specific electronic data capture systems. In conjunction with the PI, clinical staff, and research staff, create and maintain study-specific workflows as needed. Prepare and present study and enrollment updates at disease-specific research meetings. Create and maintain positive working relationships with multidisciplinary teams. Perform related duties based on departmental/Team needs. Required Education High School Diploma or GED.
