BKD, LLP Intern Healthcare Consulting Summer 2025 | Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio
As an intern at FORVIS, you will gain valuable experience that may help you decide whether you want to start your career in the healthcare consulting area servicing primarily tax-exempt healthcare clients, such as hospitals, senior living facilities, and other providers. This position in our growing health care consulting practice offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who possess strong attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills, the ability to adapt to changing regulatory requirements, and are sensitive to deadlines. You will work alongside our senior staff and management personnel, learning from their expertise as you develop your skillset. As an intern within the National Healthcare Group, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of financial projects, but a primary focus would be on regulatory reimbursement and financial feasibility/forecast consulting services. How you will contribute: Assisting with preparation of Medicare & Medicaid cost reports Providing services related to the disproportionate share of hospital payments, uncompensated care, Medicare bad debts, wage index, graduate medical education/IME, settlement issues, PRRB Appeals, and other evolving special reimbursement projects Assist with a variety of financial feasibility/forecasts and special consulting projects Access client information and manipulate large data files from disparate sources Participate in the development and implementation of consulting projects/service deliverables for healthcare clients We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and: The ability to be detail-oriented Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities A commitment to client service Organizational and time management skills Analytical and critical thinking skills Strong written and verbal communication skills An ability to prioritize work for multiple clients and consistently meet deadlines Minimum Qualifications: Working toward a bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Management Information Systems Strong knowledge of basic accounting Demonstrated capability and experience with databases, data manipulation, reporting, and analysis Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong computer skills and the ability to work with various computer applications, including Windows, Adobe, and various internet applications Applicants for positions with Forvis Mazars must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
