GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Manager, Payroll Operations leads payroll strategy and operations to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processes and initiatives. The role manages third-party relationships, acting as the primary contact for payroll matters, leading audits and time-based processing. Ensures compliance with regulations, and continuously improves payroll processes through best practices and automation. Maintains high customer satisfaction through operational excellence and quality assurance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead payroll strategy and operations for accurate and compliant payroll processes and initiatives.
Develop strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including third-party service providers) to ensure accurate payroll processing and to enhance payroll operations.
Manage third-party payroll relationships, ensuring service level agreements / KPIs are met and quality assurance is maintained. Act as the primary contact for all payroll related matters.
Lead payroll special events (e.g., internal/external audits, year-end processing, special payments).
Lead payroll functions ensuring timeliness and accuracy in compliance and regulations for processing payments, taxes, reporting, acquisitions, policies, procedures, and internal controls. Assess and resolve payroll processing issues.
Ensure compliance with accounting, legal and regulatory requirements while staying up to date on changes across the industry impacting payroll and payroll tax processes.
Actively review and enhance payroll processes through implementation of best practices, system efficiencies, and automation.
Maintain high customer satisfaction by resolving cases promptly.
Address and clearly communicates issues and resolution to various stakeholders and employees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting or equivalent field.
7-10 years’ experience in Business or Human Resources; in depth knowledge of all laws and regulations related to payroll.
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
Workday Payroll experience.
Intermediate or Advanced Excel skills.
Expert understanding of payroll function and broad knowledge of Human Capital/Compliance/Risk.
Ability to deliver payroll analytics and reporting for data-driven decisions.
Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills.
Exhibited ownership, urgency, and solution-oriented approach.
Effective management of deliverables and timelines.
Excellent customer service, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to resolve conflicts and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
