Job Title: HVAC Designer
Job Description
We are currently hiring an HVAC Mechanical Designer/Engineer for a reputable firm in Cincinnati, OH. This is a Direct Hire position where you will be responsible for designing mechanical systems for building systems. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of building mechanical engineering systems from conceptual development to final design and owner acceptance. You will work closely with experienced engineering leaders, architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, full-service A/E firm.
Responsibilities
Work with engineers and project managers.
Coordinate with project managers regarding schedule and deliverables for assigned projects, which include industrial and commercial types.
Seek advice and counsel from experienced engineers as needed.
Interface with all disciplines assigned to the project to coordinate the mechanical work.
Research systems and select appropriate items for incorporation into the building design.
Prepare design documents as assigned.
Prepare documents in conformance with company standards and quality control requirements.
Assist in the preparation of construction document specifications and coordinate the work with other project specifications.
Remain current with new products and tools to better meet our client’s needs.
Conduct field investigations as assigned to understand project requirements.
Assist with quality assurance reviews.
Research and prepare building code analysis for mechanical engineering work.
Maintain technical accuracy, constructability, code conformance, and appropriate level of detail for project designs.
Attend and participate in project team meetings.
Maintain technical expertise in your profession and area of work.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Revit and Revit MEP.
Experience in MEP design and MEP engineering.
Knowledge in HVAC design, mechanical design, and mechanical engineering.
Experience with AutoCAD.
A minimum of 3 years of experience producing mechanical (HVAC) design documents for permit/construction.
Experience within an MEP consulting firm and working on commercial construction projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong coordination and communication skills.
Ability to conduct field investigations and quality assurance reviews.
Knowledge of building codes and standards.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, in-office. The firm offers excellent stability, with a focus on publicly funded and DoD projects. The A&E firm has in-house MEP and Architecture services, allowing internal project collaboration without external consultants. The firm has a great internal culture, offering flexibility, and has a history of giving out amazing gifts and bonuses at the end of the year. There is also the potential to work one day remotely, as decided by your direct manager.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00
