Introduction:
Join ENTRUST as a Sr. Principal Control Systems Engineer specializing in Instrumentation, Control, and Electrical Systems. In this senior role, you will be a subject matter expert, driving projects within the electric power generation & distribution segment. This position offers a flexible work environment with some travel required. This position offers both full-time and part-time options.
Responsibilities:
This position is remote flexible and requires 25-40% project travel. Hybrid and in-office options are also available depending on location.
As a Sr. Principal Control Systems Engineer, you will design and program electric power generation and distribution projects as a subject matter expert, developing and implementing advanced solutions for power plants concerning instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems. You will be responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical aspects of projects. You'll lead or support development teams that include both hardware and software components. Your role will also involve assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals, covering technical definitions, schedule estimations, and resource planning. Collaboration will be key, as you will lead design teams and work with various internal and external personnel to ensure project success through best practices such as Design Reviews, Program Reviews, and Project Closeout Meetings. Participation in client and contractor meetings to resolve project issues is essential, as is mentoring younger team members to ensure the transfer of knowledge and experience.

Minimum Requirements:
15-25+ years of experience in electrical instrumentation & controls within the electrical utility industry.
Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Steam Turbine Controls
Gas / Liquid Turbine Controls
Hydro Turbine Controls
Burner Management Systems (BMS)
Combustion Controls
Balance of Plant
Protection Controls (Protection Relays)
Knowledge of DCS/PLC Systems and/or protection equipment.
Promotes teamwork by demonstrating effective communication skills and collaboration with peers, management, and the client
Ability and willingness to travel 25-40% locally and domestically.
Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated to achieve in budget and on time project success/completion.
