Actalent Quality Control Technician in City Of Industry, California

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

Perform chemical and physical analysis for samples (product, ingredients, environmental, sanitation chemical) as soon as samples arrive; calculate and determine the amount of ingredients needed to adjust semi-finished good sample readings back to the specified range. Discuss results and findings with those in charge of the products, and recommend any required corrective actions as needed. Conduct microbiological analysis for samples provided. Verify data measured against specifications and determine acceptability. Enter data into the system. Conduct trend analysis and report any trends to the supervisor in a timely manner. Maintain and calibrate lab equipment. Maintain a clean working area (clean up area, equipment, tools, etc., after analysis is ended and sample disposal). Work as a team with other lab technicians and assist each other to provide data in a timely manner. Cover for other lab technicians in their absence. Help maintain the inventory of lab supplies. Assist QA/QC management in improving the microbiological, chemical, and physical quality of products. Assist QA/QC management in conducting special projects regarding microbiological, chemical, and physical issues. Maintain and follow Good Laboratory Practice at all times.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in City Of Industry, California and some days remote.

Work Environment

Food Manufacturing/Laboratory Environment. Will be working with the QA/QC Department and working in the lab and on the production floor; must be comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment. 100% In the Lab. Team: 4 Techs. Dress Code: GMP. 6:30pm – 3:00am with a $1.50 shift premium. Probationary period (at least first month) will be Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm. Optional weekend coverage as needed with advanced communication and 2 days rest.
