Citigroup SVP – Cash and Collateral Management Group Manager (Hybrid) TAGUIG in City of Taguig, Philippines

The Cash & Collateral Management Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions.

Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

Responsibilities:

  • Group Manager managing Senior SMEs and Team Managers and helping them to be successful and effective in their roles.

  • Is responsible for the efficient and proper utilization of cash & collateral throughout the firm, and its subsidiaries at Central Banks, Agent Banks and other FMIs, on both a domestic and international basis, including timely settlement of all payment obligations.

  • Is responsible for effective predicting, forecasting and reporting to Treasury processes to support the above mentioned efficiency

  • Working with the funding, will analyze cash flow, use of cash capital and collateral, transfer of funds (intra-company and with outside parties), bank account usage,

  • Establish controls for all cash & collateral movements and cash usage and coordinate activities with auditing functions

  • Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources, and exercises control over resources, budget, policy formulation and planning

  • Manages complex and highly variable issues associated with collateral and cash balances with significant potential impact across multiple operations areas, weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting needs

  • Leads change-the-bank projects, including industry driven projects, resolves escalated issues and/or offers solutions at an advanced level

  • Serves as analytical and/or procedural expert representing cash and collateral on cross functional processes or project deliverables.

  • Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions, and streamline processes

  • Closely follows trends in cash and collateral and adapts them for application within own job and the business

  • Leads innovative solutions and productivity opportunities; builds effective relationships with clients; facilitates, influences and enables change

  • Requires analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources

  • Presents data and analyses/validates to develop valued added solutions to increase productivity and efficiencies

  • Implements and manages a successful risk/control environment related to the processes, including maker/checker, reconciliation and other types of controls

  • Manages compliance efforts to follow policies and procedures, as well as contributing to defining standards

  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources

  • Utilizes exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in order to build effective relationships and influences and negotiates, often at senior levels (across functions)

  • Leads by example in support of organizational initiatives by exhibiting in-depth knowledge of products and issues and proactively seeks opportunities to work across silos

  • Holds a degree of responsibility and demonstrates a sense of ownership for the strategy of a department, program or project Works with great degree of independence/minimal supervision; may require oversight on exceptionally complicated issues/situations

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • Manage all kind of incidents (e.g. system outages, industry issues, cyber attacks, etc) and ensuring minimum impact on the firm and its clients. This might also include a requirement to work in outside normal working hour and in overtime

  • Complete all tasks – having connection with the organization’s activity but not detailed in the JD

  • Deputizes his/her direct manager

  • Supports roll-out and implementation of global best-practices, in particular knowledge transfer of existing processes to other markets

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Banking/Treasury area

  • Individuals are expected to be subject matter experts in multiple or specific skill sets, business areas or products

  • Intermediary or advanced knowledge of Treasury Funding and Banking Operations

  • People Managers are expected to demonstrate exceptional management skills

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Skills & Competences:

  • Excellent spoken and written English, other languages are advantageous

  • An understanding of concept of Corporate Treasury, Markets Treasury and Operations The candidate is expected to be dynamic, flexible and a quick learner as the business requires candidates to be able to learn and perform multiple functions parallel

  • Strong PC skills in Excel, Word and Outlook. Training will be provided on other systems used within this position

  • A desire to learn

  • Precision, keen attention to details

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Willingness to work on local Bank Holiday days when managing regional/global processes

  • Ability to support occasional weekend works if required for testing
