Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are looking for an experienced CMM Programmer to join our Quality team. This position will support the Quality Department by creating and optimizing CMM programs and fixtures capable of inspecting precision components for development and qualification purposes. This position is anticipated to work on our 2nd shift, from 3pm -11:30pm Monday-Friday.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Generate CMM Programs using Zeiss Calypso CMM software based on product model or digital data
Inspect production parts at start-up, in process, and final inspection against the CMM program
Analyze CMM data and clearly report findings to engineering and production personnel
Review and optimize current CMM programs in conjunction with the NPI CMM programmer
Generate AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports using Net Inspect and Idea Gen ballooning software
Interpret blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications per Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Interact with shop floor departments (production, casting, CNC, and molding) to support quality inspections and prioritizations through use of dispatch or Hot List notifications
Communication of nonconformities using Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs)
Update electronics inspection reports
Operate Oxford Foundry-Master Optimum Optical Emissions Spectrometer to analyze aluminum, titanium, and stainless-steel alloy chemistries
Attend quality manual standards training and apply quality standards accordingly
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiently use hand measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, thread gauges, go/no go pins, and other measuring tools and equipment
Previous experience with Calypso software
Excellent GD&T skills (ASME Y 14.5)
High level of comfort using computers
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment as well as independently
Understanding of mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
