CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: (1) Manage Team: Hire, train, coach, and support direct reports. Ensure that all team members understand roles, responsibilities, and interfaces within other EHS, Sustainability, or PS groups as well as any key internal stakeholders. Coaches and develops a relatively small- or medium-sized product stewardship professional team within defined area of scope; identifies skill gaps, executes development plans, provides feedback, and addresses performance issues as instructed. Implement cross training, as needed, to ensure adequate coverage in case of absence. Identifies skills and knowledge necessary for job performance; recognizes top performers among direct reports and identifies and removes barriers to high performance. Complete performance evaluations, goals, and succession plans in a timely manner. (2) Manage Response Team for Regulatory Technical Inquiries and Documents: Review and understand customer inquiries related to technical regulatory issues. Lead the development of appropriate responses and provide information / data to resolve the issue. Manage the completions of requests for regulatory documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Environmental Data Sheets (EDS), RoHS Certifications, REACH SVHC Certifications, etc. Support customer data systems and ensure accurate entry of product regulatory data into those systems. Possess sufficient knowledge to recognize questionable data and assist to resolve to meet data standards. Manage the completions of customer forms for regulatory data that may include analyzing product composition for chemicals of concern and gathering input from other areas within regulatory (e.g. Chemical Compliance, Sustainability, VOC Compliance Team). Provide support to business product stewards as needed on customer projects. Identify internal stakeholders and communicate customer issues or concerns to them as appropriate. Assist Sherwin Williams legal department with retrieval of historical MSDS and SDS documents. (3) Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive continuous improvement projects which will bring efficiency or cost savings across the Product Stewardship function. (4) Business Support: Promotes and maintains internal and external connections to support strategic partnerships; maintains alignment among functional management stakeholders to focus on desired outcomes. Partners with related organizations (either internal or external) to ensure that stakeholders are satisfied or that issues are resolved in a timely manner. FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM related field from an accredited institution or at least 7 years of experience specifically within Product Stewardship and/or Regulatory affairs in the coatings industry Preferred: Master's Degree in a STEM related field from an accredited institution or at least 12 years of experience specifically within Product Stewardship and/or Regulatory affairs in the coatings industry KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: 5+ years' experience in Product Stewardship or Regulatory Affairs Experience in direct employee supervision, to include goal setting and performance evaluation.
