Pre-Analytics Processing Technician

Centralized data, readily accessible support, and collaboration between the laboratory and ordering provider reduce the time to a patient's diagnosis and treatment.

A caregiver in this position works 3:00pm - 11:30pm with on-call requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Retrieve, sort, track, verify receipt of and deliver specimens.

• Comply with safety SOP & regulations.

• Perform basic clerical and problem-solving functions.

• Maintain appropriate documentation.

• Communicate and document essential information.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Six months of patient care experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Manual dexterity to perform specimen handling techniques and to take measurements

• May require extended periods of standing, walking and/or sitting.

• Handles and transports bio hazardous materials.

• Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.

• Must have normal or corrected vision.

• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as defined in the exposure control plan.
