Job Title: Project/Engineering Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project/Engineering Manager with expertise in electrical and mechanical systems to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will manage and coordinate the engineering design process, deliver configured-to-order product drawing packages, and provide support to Sales and Customer Service teams. You will also drive value engineering, product improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
Responsibilities
Delegate projects within the team to maximize resource utilization
Evaluate employees' performance and recommend or approve changes in status and salary adjustments
Conduct scheduled training sessions for Sales and Customer Service teams
Plan, manage, and coordinate the engineering design process
Deliver configured-to-order product drawing packages and bills-of-materials
Manage the engineering team workflow, including costing, pre-quote analysis, order processing, creation of production and engineering documents, approvals, and bills of materials (BOM)
Review and evaluate sales order requirements
Provide support to Sales and Applications Engineering during the pre-sales phase
Approve project releases to Manufacturing
Drive value engineering, product improvement, and cost reduction initiatives
Collaborate with Assembly, Test, Procurement, and field technicians to coordinate engineering response plans
Provide updates on project status and timeline for completion
Essential Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
5+ years of experience in developing and creating new products in the electromechanical products space
Strong knowledge of safety protocols, quality control, and manufacturing processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with customers and vendors
2D and 3D CAD skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
Functional understanding of ERP systems
Previous experience working on commercial, industrial, and capital equipment projects
10+ years of experience within OEM electrical or mechanical domains
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of basic electrical concepts such as current carrying capability of conductors, ampacity, and electrical spacing requirements
Industry-specific knowledge in the electrical testing space
Professional Engineer (PE) License
Training and/or professional experience in seismic, wind, and vibration calculations to support equipment designs (IBC)
Work Environment
The role is based in an office environment currently attached to a manufacturing floor. The team will be relocating to a new office nearby in the next couple of months. The Project/Engineering Manager will oversee a team of 12 engineers.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $63.00/hr.
