Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will conduct repairs and preventative maintenance on food production facility equipment. You must be open to all shifts and prepared to work approximately 50-60 hours per week during the season. Lock out/tag out procedures are non-negotiable and will be closely observed. This position primarily involves mechanical repair of fruit packaging machinery, conveyors, slicers, shakers, sorters, and blast freezers. Electrical experience is preferred for higher pay rates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical repairs on fruit packaging machinery, conveyors, slicers, shakers, sorters, and blast freezers.

• Perform preventative maintenance on food production facility equipment.

• Repair hydraulics and plumbing issues related to equipment and drainage systems.

• Work on Prodopac, Reiser, Reytech color sorting machines.

• Troubleshoot electrical wiring and light automation (swing shift only), including hard-wiring circuits and electrical components of machines.

• Adhere to lock out/tag out procedures closely.

• MIG weld structural designs, such as frames for machinery.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting

• Electrical troubleshooting

• Hydraulics

• PLC and VFD troubleshooting

• Experience with vertical baggers and conveyors

• Ability to weld a penetrative bead on mild steel (structural)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6 months to 5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment

• Electrical wiring/troubleshooting experience preferred

• Familiarity with machinery

• Understanding of a basic circuit and ability to troubleshoot with minimal oversight

• Food/beverage industry experience heavily preferred

Work Environment

You will work in a food manufacturing environment where cleanliness is crucial. Adherence to GMP procedures is mandatory, including sanitization and maintaining cleanliness during repairs and machinery operations. Our maintenance team consists of 13 members across three shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CLOVIS, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
