Job Title: Rig Mechanic Job Classification: Full-time, non-exempt/hourly Job Location: Geneva, PA Compensation: From $24 per hour, depending on experience Reports To: Fleet Manager

Rig Mechanic Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Rig Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot the rig equipment. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of rig operations. The successful candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety standards.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on drilling rigs and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and conduct necessary repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter, to assess electrical systems and components.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on-site.
  • Assist in the training of junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on drilling rigs and associated equipment.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on-site.
  • Assist in the training of junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license; CDL is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience required.
  • Must be able to drive a standard transmission.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of DOT regulations preferred.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • The candidate must pass the company drug screen and background check before employment.
  • The candidate must be willing and able to work in a field environment in all weather and noisy environments. The candidate must also be able to use hands, arms, and legs to manage, install, position, move materials, and manipulate things.
  • This physically demanding position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift heavy materials, carry, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, bend repeatedly, and reach high and low.

Compensation

Approximately 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, first (day turn) shift. The hourly rate ranges from $24 per hour, depending on experience.
