Survey Office Technician

Location: Coeur dAlene, Idaho

The Survey Office Technician is an in-office position and will require little to no field work. This position may be filled as a Part-Time or Full-Time hire, depending on experience and qualifications.

General responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Survey Team Lead or Professional Land Surveyors in JUBs North Idaho and Eastern Washington Offices:

  • Assist with the preparation of scopes of work / survey contracts
  • Performing research for projects and for estimates, including:
    • Subdivision Plats
    • Records of Survey
    • Road right-of-way Records (Federal / State / Local)
    • Deeds / Easements
    • Railroad Plans
    • GLO notes / plats
    • BLM Survey Records
    • FEMA Records
    • Others
    • Travel will be required to courthouses or other agencies for independent on-site records research.
  • Organizing, writing and coordinating survey project descriptions to be used in proposals
  • Assist with organizing ongoing project task lists
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining survey files.
  • Maintaining archives - hard copies and digital.
  • Assist Proposal group with Survey-centric portions of Statements of Qualifications (SOQs).
  • Coordinating Subdivision plat reviews, approvals, signatures with the various jurisdictions
  • Preparing various applications; subdivision; BLA; PHD; etc.
  • Recording of surveys, LCRs, CP&Fs, etc.
  • Dimension verification for maps and legal descriptions
  • Coordinating Court exhibits for Expert witness cases.
  • Coordinating survey requests / scheduling
  • Creating field information packets; aerials, assessors maps, etc.
  • Prepare, mail and organize right-of-entry letters
  • Coordinate with Title Companies; preliminary reports and supporting documents
  • Coordinate underground utility mark requests
  • Review and edit reports, narratives, letters and other survey documents.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and calibrations
