Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Postdoctoral Fellow - Tollkuhn Lab in Cold Spring Harbor, New York

Position Description

The Tollkuhn Lab has an open position for a postdoctoral researcher to develop projects on hormonal regulation of gene expression in the brain. Our lab studies the transcriptional mechanisms of nuclear receptors in the context of brain development, innate behavior, and disease risk. Gonadal hormones such as estrogen and testosterone are the principal regulators of sex differences in the vertebrate brain, but the regulatory strategies used by hormone receptors in the brain remain largely unexplored. We seek a colleague to apply cutting edge molecular biology approaches to fundamental questions in neuroscience. Tollkuhn lab postdocs are expected to lead their own projects, mentor others, and collaborate. Our laboratory offers a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment, and we prioritize increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in science. Individuals from non-traditional and/or under-represented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Position Requirements

Applicants should have completed, or be near completion of, a Ph.D. in a relevant field. Expertise in generating transcriptomic and epigenomic data is required, experience with data analysis (R/Python programming, data visualization) is preferred, an ability to learn these skills is essential.
