PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR – DAY SHIFT

RESUME REQUIRED

PURPOSE AND GENERAL SUMMARY:

Pilgrim’s is looking for a PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR to provide departmental direction and support, using coaching, motivation and supervisory techniques, ensuring that teams achieve specified levels of performance. The Production Supervisor oversees safety, quality, training, retention, sanitation, budget and productivity for team members under their supervision. This role will be based in at our processing plant in Cold Spring, MN.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Hires, trains, coaches and motivates team members to achieve their maximum quality and productivity performance in their respective positions.

· Plans and schedules personnel, materials, product and machines to most effectively and efficiently utilize departmental resources to achieve Pilgrims standards

· Administers company policies and procedures fairly and equitable to maintain standards established for safety, quality, and overall company personnel satisfaction

· Continuously seeks process improvement through use of analysis of production methods and data, as well as application of processing controls.

· Coordinates multiple people and processes and integrate process activities in a manner that achieves bottom line success and the mission of Pilgrims

· Manages team member’s performance, providing positive and/or corrective feedback

· Promotes department and company goodwill through pro-active team member communication and team member involvement

· Investigates, in cooperation with other departments, areas of quality improvement, cost reduction, method improvement, yield control and equipment maintenance and provides suggestions

· Develops and implements goals and objectives and departmental budget, maintaining necessary records to track, monitor and explain any variances from budgeted goals

  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Considerable knowledge of processing operations

· Considerable knowledge of supervisory management practices and principles

· Considerable knowledge of production management practices and principles

· Considerable skill in oral and written communication

· Considerable supervisory skill

· Self-motivated, flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment; able to work well with others.

· Must be able to work varying days (including weekends) and shifts.

· Must be able to navigate processing areas and equipment.

· Marked ability to analyze and respond to production issues involving production processes

  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits :

  • Benefits : Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;

  • Paid Time Off : sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;

  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;

  • Base salary range of $56,600-68,800 ;

  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s trimester bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and
