The Software Applications Developer IV is responsible for providing technical support for the design, implementation, coding, testing, review, and documentation for the university's implementation of Ellucian's Banner Student Information System as well as the uPortal based web portal and all corresponding web interfaces.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any field), related STEM field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience required: Eight years (8) of software applications developer experience. Experience must include three (3) years of experience with ERPs including Ellucian Banner; one (1) year with Banner student information systems including Banner Self-Service or uPortal portal framework, Javascript frameworks such as Angular 2+.

  • Partial telecommuting up to 2 days a week permitted with approval and reviewed annually.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

45%: Application Design, Development and Testing

Serves as the enterprise's lead technical liaison to clients, vendors, and executive management. Develop specifications, based upon customer input requirements, and converts into thorough design documents. Creates design documents. Writes, updates, maintains, tests, and rewrites complex computer programs, websites, and web applications that insert, update, select, and display information from databases.

20%: Advanced Infrastructure Support for Development Environments

Provides technical support for the planning and maintenance of applications in an enterprise information system environment. Monitors and manages the development of enterprise infrastructure systems. Consults and assists with resolving complex performance problems and application outages in the development environment. Consults on other application issues as needed. Supports the Banner and Howdy environment for the EIS project, including installation of software programs in development, and configuration of the development environment.
