Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking quality inspectors to inspect both pre-pack and final pack operations. You will be responsible for setting quality standards on your shift, verifying visual, functional, and dimensional elements using our standards, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance procedures. This role starts in the PrePack department and involves detailed inspections, reporting, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect pre-pack and final pack operations, including bags, labels, weights, measurements, and assembly of boxes.

  • Set and maintain quality standards for the shift.

  • Collaborate with other areas to achieve the desired quality level.

  • Verify visual, functional, and dimensional elements using our standards.

  • Follow up on non-conforming materials and trace back defective materials.

  • Elaborate daily reports and process audits.

  • Maintain the 5S methodology inside the area and report any quality events.

  • Coordinate containment and participate in problem-solving analysis.

  • Report daily indicators on boards.

  • Participate in training sessions as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 3 years of experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with visual inspection and testing equipment.

  • Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and quality checks.

  • Strong skills in packaging, production equipment, and inventory control.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel and email.

  • Experience with mechanical and machine operation.

  • Attention to detail and troubleshooting abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of quality management.

  • Experience with SAP is preferable.

  • Ability to use computers and iPads for documentation.

  • Strong communication and proactive learning skills.

  • Effective problem-solving abilities and a questioning nature.

  • Teamwork, leadership, and decision-making skills.

  • Customer focus and result orientation.

  • Ability to analyze data and innovative thinking.

  • Desirable: Ability to train others with patience.

Work Environment

Work in a very clean, state-of-the-art facility that houses packaging operations, a warehouse, and a training center. The role involves a lot of walking between departments and repetitive examination of packages. The facility will expand to include more equipment and square footage.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.72 - $20.72/hr.
