Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Operations – 75%

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of CU Medicine Center for Prosthetics and serve as primary point of contact

  • Utilizing an EMR to schedule and coordinate appointments, fittings, and follow-up based on referrals

  • Collaborates with the DME Insurance Supervisor to ensure timely scheduling based on approvals

  • Provide quality customer service through patient check-in, registration, and scheduling processes

  • Analyze patient quality metric data to assist DME Program Manager in process improvement initiatives at clinic site; focused on ensuring a high-level of patient care, customer service, and clinic efficiency.

  • Use discretion and analytic skills to accurately triage communication messages to appropriate parties

  • Performs clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflows

Inventory Management – 25%

  • Assists the DME Program Manager and Prosthetist in management of PAR levels of inventory

  • Monitor and ensure site compliance with storing DME

  • Utilize inventory management software to accurately track shipments and deliveries

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in A bachelor's degree in biological science, nutrition, nursing, health, human services, psychology, counseling, social work, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • 1 year of professional experience in healthcare, healthcare administration, or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration

  • Prior experience with DME, prosthetics, and osseointegration

  • Experience working with medical terminology

  • Experience providing administrative and technical assistance to faculty and staff within a higher education and/or medical education environment.

  • Experience with EPIC EMR

  • Experience in data extraction and analysis related to healthcare quality metrics

The University of Colorado Department of Orthopedics is seeking a dynamic full-time Prosthetics Program Coordinator within the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) program. The Prosthetics Program Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative support for the CU Medicine Center for Prosthetics. The Prosthetics Program Coordinator must be a self-starting leader with a passion for healthcare, customer service and efficiency. This position is responsible for autonomously overseeing daily operations of DME clinic affairs, using discretion and accountability to manage clinical workflow.
