The Defense Systems Group (DSG) provides analysis-based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, developmental planning, system of systems engineering, and threat reduction to help shape future space missions across the national security space enterprise. DSG is unique at Aerospace as it not only directly supports major customers, including United States Space Force, United States Space Command, Air Force Material Command, and senior leadership at the Pentagon, but also provides a broad range of services and support across the national space enterprise, maintaining vertical responsibilities with customers but also horizontal, matrixed responsibilities across the corporation

This impactful technical position within the Space Enterprise and Warfighting Division, Space Security Directorate, provides high-quality analytical support to the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) and the USSF's Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), advising the Government on the design of future space forces to win the next war. This fast-paced organization is developing the next generation of capabilities for the United States Space Force in a multi-level classification environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with interagency, military, and civilian communities in the concept development, planning and development of Space Control, Space Domain Awareness and Multi-Domain Effects systems, defense planning and architectures.

Work Model This role is located at our Colorado Springs, Colorado operation. This position requires 100% onsite work in the office, in classified spaces, and is not compatible with telework.

What You'll Be Doing The duties include providing direct technical support to SSDP's Multi-Domain Effects, Space Domain Awareness and Space Control Divisions, coordinating with division customers and personnel, as well as SSDP Mission Partners. Work directly with government customers to define the future Force Designs and identify recommended performance parameters at the mission and system level. Support government development and demonstration of capabilities that advance the state of the art in Space Control, Space Domain Awareness and Multi-Domain Effects systems from concept through prototyping, acquisition, testing and into operations Accountable for planning and conducting modeling, simulations and analysis on behalf of the Space Control, Multi-Domain Effects and Space Domain Awareness Divisions. Periodic travel is required

What You Need To Be Successful - Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, physics, computer science or equivalent, from an accredited institution 8 or more years of increasing responsibility and applicable experience in engineering and technical roles. Demonstrated experience within the BMC2, space domain awareness, space control or multi-domain operations mission areas. Clear written and oral communication skills Candidate must be a self-starter and have a proven ability to work with minimum supervision and to interact effectively with other subject matter experts, Space Force personnel, SETAs, other FFRDCs, and contractor personnel. Current Top Secret/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph. This is issued by the U.S. Government; U.S. citizenship is required. Ability to obtain SAP/SAR clearances. Ability to support periodic travel.

In addition to the above, the Senior Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering position requires: Twelve or more years of related, proven technical expertise. Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary systems engineering activities for space architectures Proven experience taking initiative and delivering on commitments.
