Noblis Space Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Responsibilities

Noblis ESI is seeking an experienced Space Systems Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, Colorado to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on the protection of space systems.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Directly contribute to government’s mission success through comprehensive analysis, thought leadership, and proactive action.

  • Apply relevant space operations experience to conduct threat assessments and develop courses of action; examine and develop tactics, techniques, and procedures to support operational objectives.

  • Assess space protection doctrine, strategies, and plans; provide vetted analysis and recommendations to improve space protection architectures and capabilities.

  • Assess mission and contribute to protection doctrine, strategies, plans, architectures, and associated requirements.

  • Oversee integration of space protection functions and capabilities of delivered systems; provide analysis of schedules, capabilities delivered meet operational needs.

  • Review documentation, represent government as required in forums that support streamlined delivery of new capabilities and standardization of integration efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph (US Citizen).

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or relevant field, and 9 years of experience OR Master's degree in STEM or relevant field with 7 years of experience.

  • Experience in systems engineering processes (e.g. SE lifecycle, risk management, change management, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of integrating government capabilities into operations baseline.

  • Expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics; succinctly captures issues for the customer and provides analysis and recommendations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of joint operations planning processes.

  • Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft or ground systems operator.

  • Familiar with MBSE/Digital Engineering, AGILE development, or cloud technologies.

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.

  • Knowledge of satellite constellations, spacecraft orbit, and ground station characteristics.

  • Knowledge of space protection topics related to satellite operations (e.g. launch, communications, navigation, maneuvers, etc.); threat/risk assessments, vulnerability analysis.

  • Ability to work independently and with a team; operate effectively with contractor, SETA, FFRDC, and Government teammates.

  • Self-starter, anticipates and proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables.

  • Polished communicator (written/verbal) with impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment.

  • Experience with collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

Posted Salary Range

USD $128,340.00 - USD $200,565.00 /Yr.
