THIS POSITION WILL WORK IN BUILDING 8 ON SWING SHIFT (3 PM - 1:30 AM).

An Assembly Lead at Nomad Global Communications Solutions will play a pivotal role in driving team performance and ensuring production goals are met. This position involves leading a diverse team of 4-8 employees while fostering a collaborative and safety-focused environment. The Assembly Lead will guide daily operations, facilitate effective communication of goals, and address any challenges that arise. By leveraging leadership skills and knowledge of production processes, the Assembly Team Lead will coach team members to enhance their performance and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. This role is essential in ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently, ultimately supporting our mission to provide timely and effective communication solutions to our customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:

Production Leadership:
· Lead the assembly team to ensure that safety, efficiency, and delivery goals are consistently met.
· Review daily production schedules, identifying any staffing or material needs, and presenting issues to the Production Manager as required.
· Facilitate daily startup meetings, communicate team goals and objectives, and monitor progress throughout the shift.
· Record and report on production progress, identifying and resolving issues in collaboration with the Production Manager when necessary.
· Monitor team performance, identify and address bottlenecks, and take corrective actions as required.
· Work cooperatively with other departments to resolve challenges and achieve production objectives.
· Provide coaching and development to team members to meet performance and behavioral expectations.
· Ensure adherence to company policies, including the demonstration and enforcement of Nomad Core Values.
Assembly Functions:
· Perform all duties of an Assembly Technician, including reading and interpreting engineering CAD drawings.
· Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety and quality.
Administrative Support:
· Collaborate with the Production Manager to address staffing needs and production scheduling.
· Assist with maintaining production records, completing necessary documentation, and tracking progress.
· Provide feedback on team member performance and participate in disciplinary actions when needed.
Other Duties:
· Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the Assembly department.
· Work with other department leads to ensure cross-functional goals are met.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:
· Proven ability to lead and coach a team in a manufacturing environment.
· Familiarity with Nomad production processes and ability to innovate to improve efficiency.
· Strong PC skills, including proficiency with E2, Excel, and Word.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
· Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and crawling.
· Frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors.
· Must have the physical stamina to work in awkward positions and stand for prolonged periods.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
· Partially environmentally controlled indoor area with temperatures fluctuating between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F.
· Occasional outdoor work required.
· Exposure to noise levels ranging from low to loud; safety hearing devices provided as needed.
· Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals; adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required.
· Mandatory wearing of OSHA-approved safety eyewear and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.
· Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE), such as respirators or protective coveralls, may be necessary for specific tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus.
· 1+ years of experience at Nomad GCS preferred.
· 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or construction management, or equivalent education and experience.
· Experience with inventory management systems and E2 software.
· Ability to train and mentor team members.
