Themis Insight Systems Administrator in Columbia, Maryland

We are hiring a Systems Administrator to work in Columbia, MD. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.
Required: TS/SCI with a Polygraph
The Systems Administrator will:
Provide Systems Administration support for agency-hosted and Unison-hosted environments
Provide escalation support to Help Desk personnel
Improve and document processes and procedures
Work with Information Security to ensure that all Hosting environments are compliant with Agency requirements
Knowledge and Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a higher-tier IT Help Desk Engineer, with on-premise and cloud system deployments and should be knowledgeable in a wide array of technical and operations knowledge; including system administration, operating systems, infrastructure and application security, virtualization technology and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Directory Services included). The candidate must also be able to work well with end users, customers, management, hosting support teams, and application development teams.
Knowledge of Federal and DoD Information Security directives and processes is a plus.
Complete administration and maintenance of all production and non-production Oracle Application and Database Servers. Evaluate, perform and automate server maintenance activities.
Upgrade production and non-production systems to the latest releases of PRISM, as well as FAR, DFARS, and other Federal required updates.
Move applications to new platforms / environments as needed to maintain application stability or Agency architectural direction.
Maintain the day-to-day integrity of the application software, interfaces, and dashboards.
Perform application software administration.
Respond to changes in Agency policies that may require hosting updates.
Identify issues and/or risks, mitigate risks under Contractor control and provide recommendations for risks that are beyond Contractor's control.
Provide response to and support audit activities.
Support end users with both general and application-specific issues and act as escalation, backup and Subject Matter Expert for end user support would be preferred but not required.
Perform technical evaluations, analysis, troubleshooting and mitigation for all supported servers in response to support requests.
Plan and recommend hardware replacements as needed.
Build servers by providing technical configuration, setup, installation services, hardware and coordination.
Assist with establishing and maintaining appropriate server baseline.
Coordinate planned server outages with management and user population.
Troubleshoot, resolving and reporting on unplanned server outages.
Support development, deployment, and maintenance of Web Service Interfaces.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or 7 years related work experience required
5+ years of increasingly advanced systems administration
B.A. or B.S. in relevant field of study
Security + Certification
Must have advanced knowledge of:
AWS, Azure, GCS and/or OCE administration
Microsoft patching
Must have working knowledge of:
Microsoft Server 2016 and higher
Active Directory and GPO
DNS, TCP/IP, TLS
Preference given to candidates with advanced knowledge of:
NIST Federal Security Requirements and how they apply to hosted systems
Troubleshooting and tuning Oracle databases
Knowledge of automation through DevOps scripting and tools
AWS EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Lambdas
Agency-specific monitoring tools
Microsoft PowerShell
Web Services
Proven experience in capacity planning and delivery
Verbal and written communication skills to present information to a diverse population (technical and non-technical).
Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to break down complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Eagerness to learn new technologies
Ability to provide innovative solutions to simplify, automate and otherwise improve routine issues and tasks
