Winland Foods Maintenance Planner & Scheduler in Columbia, South Carolina

This position supports the Winland Columbia Site in the following primary areas:

1) Site lead for accuracy of data in Winland SAP for equipment, PMs, etc.

2) Leads planning function up to and including estimating labor hours, parts required, and cost.

3) Leads scheduling of PMs.

4) Leads planning and scheduling of equipment rebuilds done by internal and/or external resources.

5) Keeps the OEM equipment manual libraries (electronic and/or hard copy) current and accurate.

6) Ensure new equipment is added to SAP prior to Startup and PM’s created and in place and equipment is properly tagged and bar coded;

7) Leads and/or Co Leads Weever events for Asset Reliability, Equipment Performance Improvement Teams etc.

8) Leads development of Technical Skill Training Plans for new equipment and new lines.

9) Coordinator for Technical Skill Training Systems such as Alchemy.

10) Supports emergency maintenance in time of additional resource help

11) Support other areas as identified by Business Need.

Job Description:

Primary Planner Roles & Responsibilities

  • Determining the level of planning required. i.e. estimating time, cost, and parts required.

  • Scoping jobs to determine materials, tools, and labor resources required for work resourced internally, or externally through OEM, vendor, contractor, etc.

  • Researching OEM manuals and prints when required to support the planning process.

  • Provide planning work package as required for OEM rebuilds:

  • Scope of Work

  • Criticality and Priority

  • Coordinate External Resources to conduct onsite equipment inspections to define scope of rebuild.

  • Estimated job duration, schedule / timeline.

  • Materials List

  • Coordinate Work & Parts with TPM – Planner & Scheduler (Contractors & MRO)

  • Define tools list required to complete work, especially unique or special tools required.

  • Obtain quotes periodically

  • Verification of parts availability prior to scheduling of work.

  • Coordinate and schedule rebuild with OEM and Plant Production Scheduler.

  • CMMS/SAP oversight of data and accuracy. i.e. equipment list, PM’s, etc.

  • Lead and Maintain PM Optimization and administering PM program for all equipment.

  • Assuring PMs for all new equipment are in SAP prior to startup for new equipment.

  • Reviewing equipment history to eliminate repetitive problems.

  • Maintain a current list of equipment with highest maintenance labor, parts usage, and cost.

  • Providing reports, graphs, and charts as required and keep the Maintenance KPI boards updated.

  • Lead and/or co-lead Weever Events

Primary Scheduler Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Maintenance team to complete all high priority work required for protecting equipment reliability.

  • Utilizing Maintenance resources as efficiently as possible.

  • Development and publishing of the work identified from the SAP PM system

  • Optimize scheduling of Maintenance to available Production windows.

  • Oversight of the process for scheduling and assignment of work to the technician level:

  • Ensure each Technician has sufficient work.

  • Publish (make available) a schedule for those that require it.

  • Communicating with appropriate production and maintenance team member’s status of jobs.

  • Follow-Ups to rebuilds extending past scheduled down period or equipment not performing to expectations.

  • Identifying and communicating to reliability partners when emergency work may need to interrupt the schedule, along with Production Supervisors

  • Lead identifying and communication of a cross functional input to creating a schedule which may or may not include a scheduling meeting.

  • Assist in schedule and coordinate equipment shutdowns.

  • Schedule major equipment rebuilds.

  • Obtain, categorize and file (electronic and/or hardcopy) OEM manuals prior to new equipment startup.

  • Maintain the electronic and/or hardcopy OEM library at the Columbia site location and Shared drive.

  • Follow-up internally or with 3rd party on corrective actions.

  • Integrate Predictive Maintenance technologies (thermography, infrared, oil analysis) into the PMO process and equipment PMs where applicable.

  • Work with the Maintenance Supervisors and Leads to identify, review, approve, and assign resources for rebuilds, projects, etc.

Administrative Duties

  • Compete work-order and purchase order paperwork as needed.

  • Knowledge and ability to use SAP to include writing work orders, looking up work orders, finding parts and writing requisitions to order parts. Ensure SAP is kept current for infrastructure, utilities, and asset care with assignment of labor and/or parts accordingly.

  • Lead development of Technical Skills Training plans for new equipment and lines.

  • Department lead for administration of Technical Skills Training plans in systems such as Alchemy.

WORKDAY: Core hours of 7:00am to 3:30pm. Flexible hours based on Business or Department Need.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • Advanced SAP knowledge preferred or equivalent Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Computer skills required.

  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office preferred such as: PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Technical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance and rebuilds preferred.

  • Ability to coordinate and work with OEM’s, Vendors, Contractors, 3rd Party’s

  • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to lead teams and Weever events.

  • Working knowledge of maintenance.

  • Working knowledge of equipment.

  • Preventive Maintenance knowledge and experience preferred.

  • Prefer three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights, measures, add, subtract, multiply and divide.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Driver’s license.
