Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the government industry located in Columbia, South Carolina. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including the processing and reconciliation of accounts, maintaining financial records, and ensuring the smooth operation of financial procedures within our team.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough account reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records.

• Regularly review and process bank reconciliations to ensure consistency and accuracy.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliation to maintain financial integrity.

• Utilize skills in Microsoft Excel to organize financial data and perform financial analyses.

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process.

• Work proficiently with financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to manage financial data and operations.

• Oversee general ledger operations and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

• Implement efficient and accurate customer credit application processing procedures.

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on account status.

• Maintain customer credit records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with NetSuite and Oracle

• Knowledge of SAP software

• Ability to perform account reconciliation tasks

• Experience in balance sheet reconciliation

• Proficiency in bank reconciliations

• Familiarity with general ledger management

• Experience in creating journal entries

• Ability to handle month-end close processes

• Previous experience in a government accounting role

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
