What You Will Do:

The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Forge Disks Module Center is looking for a Business Unit Leader who will plan, design, and execute activities that are directly related to the physical creation of airfoils.

The Business Unit Leader will oversee production operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management). The Business Unit Leader will coordinate with maintenance, plant engineering, scheduling, and staff to ensure quality product is delivered to internal customers as scheduled.

The Business Unit Leader will also manage and supervise manufacturing production in operations and establish long term objectives and guidelines for managing and monitoring cell performance and productivity. This role will also direct scheduling and sequencing of work as well as production innovation to optimize production.

  • Execute near-term strategy and operational direction

  • Provide leadership and development of supervisors and workforce

  • Manage and ensure all quality related items for the unit, across all shifts, are complete and documented to that established quality standards are met

  • Lead cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the unit to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness

  • Leads materials and logistics problem resolution for the unit to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations; leads production innovation for the unit to enhance production capabilities

  • Establishes performance objectives and leads cell performance and productivity

  • Partner with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of service

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 10 or more years of operations leadership experience in a manufacturing or related industrial environment; OR a Master's Degree with 7 or more years of operations leadership experience in a manufacturing or related industrial environment

  • Experience using CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), Lean or continuous improvement principles to implement process improvements

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master's degree

  • Experience in an aerospace repair environment

  • Experience working with SAP

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
