Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Part-Time w/ Benefits - Administrative Assistant II - Human Resources located at Columbus General Office in Columbus , Nebraska. Position closes January 26th, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
This position will report to the HR Operations Manager.
Position Summary
Responsible for providing a wide variety of independent, professional, and administrative support to the functional areas of NPPD's Human Resources Department. Serves as manager's liaison for internal and external customers ensuring customer needs are fully understood and resolved.
Incumbent will work 25-32 hrs./wk.
Education, Training and Experience
Associate’s degree in an office related field and two years of related experience.
OR
Completion of a one or two year post high school secretarial certification program and three years of related experience.
OR
High school diploma/GED and six years of related experience.
Prior Related Experience
Secretarial, clerical, or administrative experience is required.
Licenses and/or Certifications

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain awareness of manager's issues and schedules; anticipate needs and/or required actions; provide updates, tracking, or follow-up and expedite as appropriate.
Process, screen and prioritize correspondence, calls, and general information ensuring the most effective use of manager's time and ensuring confidentiality. Respond independently within defined area of authority. Direct requests for information to others as appropriate.
Act independently to establish, maintain, or adjust manager's schedule and/or arrangements.
Perform office management functions and advanced secretarial duties.
May periodically conduct research and reporting of a routine or analytical nature.
Provide arrangements for meetings, including room scheduling, reservations, and/or travel accommodations.
Provide customer service, ensuring that those needing department support are assisted or directed to the appropriate staff.
Incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the HR Business Partner Supervisor and HR Business Partner team to ensure seamless operations related to recruiting and staffing.

Salary Information - Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth. In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range. Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.
Pay Grade - 6 Hourly
Typical Pay Grade Starting Salary Range: $18.87 - $23.11
Travel Required: Up to 25% (With no or minimal overnight stays, less than 3 per month, typically within state of Nebraska) Travel required may fluctuate by business need. This is an estimate and will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.

Retirement Savings
NPPD employees may participate in two retirement plan options – a 401(k) plan and a 457(b) plan. Both plans allow for pre-tax or Roth contributions. After the first six months of employment, the 401(k) plan includes a generous matching contribution from NPPD. The five-year vesting period begins on an employee’s hire date. Our retired employees are eligible for retiree healthcare benefits as well as a life benefit paid out to designated beneficiaries upon their passing.
