Job Summary

Provide general accounting support, including the preparation and review of journal entries and other accounting activity related to the general ledger closing process for AEP companies.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIO NS:

  • Assist in the general ledger accounting functions, including journal entry preparation and review, general ledger account reconciliations, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, balance sheet reviews and detailed account activity analysis.

  • Participate in the monthly accounting closing process, including the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and year-to- date account variance analyses.

  • Provide assistance in the review and analyze monthly account activity for accuracy, support and financial integrity.

  • Assist in the preparation and review of FERC financial reports on a quarterly and annual basis.

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements, accompanying footnotes and MD&A.

  • Involved in the preparation of internal management reports.

  • Respond to data requests from internal and external auditors.

  • Provide appropriate support and analysis of AEP regulatory filings and proceedings.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Accountant (Grade 5)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business with a concentration in Accounting.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience.

Accountant Senior (Grade 6)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business with a concentration in Accounting.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience.

Compensation Range:

$61,647.00-77,057.50 USD
