Accounting Assistant

Must be local to Columbus, Ohio

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to manage all accounting functions and provide administrative support to the accounting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including accounts payable, payroll, and data entry, while assisting with other administrative duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Enter Purchase Orders and invoices.

  • Assist with check runs and statement preparation.

  • Perform payroll data entry, certified payroll, union reporting, and manage child support/garnishment withholdings.

  • Assist with employee onboarding.

  • Handle lien waivers, filing, and collections.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

  • Experience with Foundation is helpful.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

  • Outstanding phone and customer service skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Accounting preferred, or High School diploma with accounting experience.

Work Environment

You will work in a collaborative office environment with a focus on precision and efficiency. The role requires the use of various accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel. The position supports a dynamic and fast-paced accounting department, requiring a professional attitude and strong organizational skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

You are eligible to enroll in the company’s benefit plans if you are a regular, full-time employee scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week. As aregular, full-time employee, you are eligible for benefits on your date of hire.
