Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management and data governance required; experience in a related field within the financial services industry preferred. Thorough knowledge of data governance frameworks and methodologies required. Solid background in data quality management practices required. Demonstrated capability in developing and implementing data policies, standards, and procedures required. Demonstrated leadership in championing data governance initiatives and driving program adoption across the company required. Experience working with regulatory bodies and familiarity with compliance requirements related to data management within the financial services sector preferred. Supervisory or Leadership experience preferred Job Description Summary The Director of Data Governance & Stewardship is responsible for developing and leading the enterprise-wide data governance strategy, ensuring that data assets are managed effectively and consistently across the organization. This role oversees the creation, implementation, and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures ensuring data quality, compliance, and security. The Director will collaborate with various business units to enable data stewards, maintain the data catalog and business glossary, and drive data fluency initiatives while ensuring effective data controls and issue management processes. Designs and implements a comprehensive data governance framework tailored to the needs of our organization within the financial services industry. Assists in the coordination of Data Strategy Council meetings. Oversees Data Governance and Stewardship group meetings and initiatives. Spearheads and drives the creation and management of a data quality program to ensure integrity and usability of data across the organization. Establishes data quality standards and processes, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and reliable for use in business processes and decision-making. Implements and oversees data issue management processes, ensuring that data-related issues are identified, tracked, and resolved efficiently. Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive data governance policies that ensure the effective management and protection of the organization's data assets. Establishes and enforces data standards and controls to ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance across the organization's data landscape. Oversees the maintenance and continuous improvement of the data catalog, business glossary, and data dictionary, ensuring these tools provide accurate and accessible information to business users.
