Job Description Summary:

The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for working on the resolution of employee relations matters, performance management issues, policy violations and the investigation of employee complaints and/or conflict resolution on behalf of the company. This position interacts with individuals across the organization to help mitigate risk to the organization and ensure that outcomes align with Option Care Health Values including fair and equitable treatment of all team members. This individual works quickly and thoroughly to investigate and resolve employee conflicts, coach and counsel to resolve performance management issues, and resolves work environment complaints.

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing and resolving sensitive employee concerns and investigations, including interpersonal conflict in the workplace, employee complaints, ethics reports, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation in a timely manner.

  • Identify and address employee relations issues providing advice and guidance to the business leaders for issues such as policy violations, performance management, disability and leave management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, or other issues representing significant risk to the organization

  • Review, edit and approve constructive disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans in the Workday system as necessary to address areas of concern or policy violations.

  • Prepare thoughtful, reasonable and independent investigations summaries for internal and external stakeholders to close-out ER cases

  • Provides support and guidance to leaders when addressing team member behavior and performance concerns

  • Maintain electronic organization practices for the retention and retrieval of investigation materials

  • Assist in a broad range of tasks and projects, including the implementation, interpretation and administration of policies and procedures to ensure and enhance organization’s capacity to handle employee relations matters and ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws.

  • Explains and provides advice to workers about company policy, rules, regulations and laws and their need for compliance.

  • Reviews violations on annual team member MVR and background checks for resolution

  • Reviews all PHI and privacy incidents received from the Compliance Office for necessary corrective action

  • Consult with Legal Counsel on Employee Relation issues and attend mediations and depositions for the company as needed.

  • Conduct exit interviews with team member leaving the organization

  • Manage metrics and report on Employee Relation activity to management within recommended timelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No.

(i.e. hiring, recommending/approving promotions and pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, discipline, etc.)

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or a related field

  • 5 years of experience in human resource roles with at least 2 years concentration in Employee Relations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal employment laws including, but not limited to, Title VI, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, etc.

  • Ability to analyze complex issues and facts and summarize essential issues to various audiences.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning).

  • Ability to work with and positively influence peers and management.

  • Self-motivated and high endurance with critical attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and reporting.

Travel Requirements (if required):

Up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs):

PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred

Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Pay Range is $68,841.68-$114,714.07
