Ohio Michigan Indiana (OMI) Water Group Leader - Process and Process Mechanical
We are excited to announce a career opportunity for which we are seeking expressions of interest from qualified candidates who wish to be considered for a Water Group Leader (GL) leading our process and process mechanical team. The team consists of 14 professionals across water and wastewater projects serving as technologists, process leads, tasks leads, designers, and digital delivery leads. The GL role may be located in any OMI office.

This Water Group Leader role reports to the OMI Department Leader and serves as a critical member of the OMI Water Leadership Team. You’ll work closely with the other Department and Group Leaders, Managers of Projects, and Client Account Managers to provide guidance and leadership within the water group. You’ll be called upon to use your inspirational leadership skills to provide mentoring and coaching to Water Group staff aligned to you, including development of e3 goals and performance reviews. GLs are also responsible for promoting inclusion and diversity within the office and the Water Team, working to ensure that all staff are given meaningful and equitable opportunities to progress their careers within Jacobs.
In this role you’ll:
Promote a culture of caring, quality, safety, and Inclusion and Diversity
Partner with the Director of Operations, Department Leaders, other leadership, and our Sales team to grow and maintain sustainable work pipelines
Use the workforce planning and other tools to track and manage staff utilization and partner with the PMs, and other project execution staff, to deliver on project needs and contractual terms
Act as hiring manager for required staff, working in concert with others around established hiring plans; including helping our business achieve
TogetherBeyond goals and integrate new hires
Partner with Market Solutions counterparts to disperse knowledge and incorporate new technologies within assigned field
Manage performance and help talent grow and develop, using the e3 process
Coach, develop, and mentor staff to deliver superior results collectively and individually
Build team culture in concert with overall performance unit and company goals/strategy, and communicate with aligned staff (i.e., generally working in office 2 days a week, holding regular team meetings and 1:1 meetings, etc.)
Review and approve time sheets, expense reports, and time off requests for aligned staff
Related Bachelor’s degree or higher in applicable field (e.g. civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical)
Demonstrated aptitude, ability, and capacity to build and support a team
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
Ability to help develop other front-line leaders as part of succession planning
Substantial years of experience working on design and/or project management on water/wastewater projects
Experience with resource management responsibilities
Working knowledge of project delivery responsibilities
Knowledge of OMI water client market portfolio
Engaged with Jacobs employee networks and/or has a good understanding of the resources available on JacobsConnect
Demonstrated time management skills
