Responsibilities * Conducts employment health assessments and screens, annual Tuberculosis (TB) surveillance tests, immunization administration, other routine screenings, and nursing care. Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of employees and volunteers. * Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and organizational policies, plans, implements, educates, and evaluates nursing care using Evidence-Based Practices. Documents according to department standards, policies, and procedures. Maintains HIPAA compliance of all employee health records. * Engages in the "workplace community" by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection, or auditing, and understanding Quality Improvement. Prepares and maintains on-line medical records. Maintains department files and orders historical files from Fireproof. * Reviews and provides follow up to employee injury events, identifies, and communicates employee safety issues and makes recommendations to the Employee Safety team. Collaborates with Human Resources and Bureau of Worker's Compensation Third Party Administrator to ensure accident reports and records are accurate and timely. * Maintains the technical skills required for phlebotomy in Employee Health. Including specimen accessioning, specimen preparation, and specimen delivery and storage. Coordinates department communications and processes, operates communication systems, deciphers general reasons for visit, registers in ReadySet, orders tests, and appropriately directs the employee. Acts as a preceptor for orientation and training of other Employee Health Assistant staff. * Cleans, orders, and stocks clerical, drug testing, and clinical supplies. Monitors and maintains drug screening room through checking and appropriately documenting equipment daily.
