What Operations Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Maintenance is responsible for managing the service life of company assets which is inclusive of physical building and utilities, manufacturing/warehouse equipment and tooling, office devices and physical layout of facility. This responsibility is completed through the management of appropriate internal and external resources as needed to ensure the dependable and safe operations environment necessary for a given Cardinal Health facility. This group has responsibility for both corrective and preventative maintenance and the necessary systems to manage, schedule, and record this activity.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of various building systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general maintenance practices and possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Occasionally assists with real-time troubleshooting of automation technology issues. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be a part of the overall site Asset Management team with a strong focus on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
About the Consumer Health Logistics Center
The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) will be Cardinal Health’s newest Pharmaceutical Supply Chain operation in Groveport, Ohio. Location/Shift
This position will be an on-site position (5 days per week), based out of the Consumer Health Logistics Center
Second Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on building systems and equipment, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Diagnose and repair faulty equipment and systems, utilizing diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to replace parts, make adjustments, and resolve malfunctions.
Participate in facility improvement projects.
Operate a forklift and other Material Handling Equipment to transport maintenance parts and equipment.
Complete inventories of the spare parts storehouse and facility supplies.
Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, landscaping, and cleaning.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.
Assist Automation Technician with real-time troubleshooting and repair of automation and conveyance technology issues as needed, including identifying and resolving problems with automated systems and equipment.
Participate in, and coordinate, ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Manage and complete assigned work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other stakeholders regarding maintenance issues, progress, and any potential concerns.
Follow safety protocols and procedures, ensuring the safe operation of automated systems and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Champion innovation, simplification, and standardization of current solution offerings, operating procedures, methodologies, and processes.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
2+ years of experience, preferred
A safety-first approach to operation and maintenance of equipment
Strong understanding of general maintenance practices, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems preferred
Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of equipment and systems
Proficiency in using hand and power tools
Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, and other heavy machinery preferred
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software or managing maintenance schedules and records
Familiarity with industrial maintenance safety standards such as Lock Out/Tag Out
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lift to 50lbs, work in tight spaces, work at heights, and stand/walk for extended periods preferred
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail
Availability for on-call rotation, overtime, and occasional weekend shifts
Some experience with automation technology and troubleshooting preferred
Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and the connection to product flow

Anticipated hourly range: $19.40 per hour - $31.20 per hour (includes shift differential)
