We are urgently hiring for an Entry Level Lab Technician to join a TOP cosmetic manufacturer in Congers NY!

Job Description

The Lab Technician works on different color cosmetic projects from batching formulas to preparing samples and performing testing in Congers, NY. Responsibilities include making daily lab batches as assigned by the chemist or lab manager, assisting the color chemist to perform shade counter-matching, preparing samples for submission to clients (lipsticks, pressed powders, lip-glosses), preparing paperwork for formula submissions and documenting specifications for various batches. The Lab Technician will perform testing on formulations (viscosity, volatiles, break points, drop tests…), maintain detailed and organized records in formulation and project management databases, collaborate with formulators and lab manager to ensure inventory of raw materials are replenished and maintained appropriately, assist the chemists in the development of new shades and formulations, participate actively in the organization of the laboratory, keep track of all raw materials and organize them efficiently, and maintain and organize the color library.

Hard Skills

• BS/MS Chemistry or related field

• 0 to 2 years cosmetic formulation experience

Soft Skills

• Interest in Cosmetics

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in CONGERS, New York.

Work Environment

Dress Code: Lab Coat provided. Hours: 8:30am to 5pm. Reports to Director.
