Position Summary:

Under the Store Manager's and District Manager's leadership, the Assistant Store Manager will assist with the day-to-day operations and management of the store and donation area. To ensure efficient and cost-effective operation through world-class customer service, processing donated goods, quality control, and maintaining a productive workforce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all management duties, including opening/closing, all day-to-day store operations, and management of store employees, including recommendations for employee change of status decisions.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating as well as developing Team Members within the framework of GWH policies, procedures, and the Team Members job description.
  • Adhere to working the established rotating schedule unless directed otherwise or approved by the District Manager.
  • Maintain open availability to assist the store with management and leadership needs, including time frames outside of the management rotating schedule if needed.
  • Ensure completion of the daily management duties as provided by GWHs leadership team.
  • Ensures the Safety Program is being managed efficiently.
  • Manage and influence the team by communicating clear company daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals.
  • Partner with the store manager to create, prepare, and post schedules, review/approve electronic time sheets, and monitor labor hours.

``` - Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash accountabilities at POS registers/safe. - Execute GWHs workflow as designed by training, coaching, and documenting team member performances while assessing production progress on an hourly basis. - Ensures store supplies and bank orders are placed in a timely manner. - Supervise and assist with the training and development of Team Members. - Help ensure the proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow in and out of the store by always utilizing the proper equipment according to GWH policies and procedures. - Coach by Walking Around (CBWA) for approximately 80% of the time on duty to ensure team members meet minimum expectations. - Accurately operate all store systems and complete financial and statistical counts (donor counts, production standards, etc.). - Help ensure the timeliness of proper apparel and hard goods rotation according to GWH policies and procedures.

  • Must safely conduct work; maintain good housekeeping standards; have all aisles and pathways to fire exits clear and free from clutter; and keep work areas neat and clean.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of retail sales experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
