Responsible for the Design and development of automotive alignment products. Including Quality improvements (Rapid Continuous Improvements) to existing products.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical design and development of new products or product enhancements for the automotive equipment industry. Must be able to work in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines and nationalities.
• Prepare thorough and accurate documentation for release to manufacturing and for internal product design records. Maintain an engineering notebook to document work activity in support of company\'s patent goals.
• Test and validate alignment products to assure good product performance and high standard of quality.
• Work with manufacturing and service personnel to resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products.
• Work with manufacturing engineering on Rapid Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce product cost and/or improve performance of designs.
• Develop a deep understanding of the company\'s products and their applications.

Qualifications

• BSME or BSMET degree. Preference with minimum 2 years design experience.
• Up to date knowledge in mechanical design. Including the design of plastic molded parts, metal castings, sheet metal, and assembly techniques.
• Capable of performing engineering analysis and other related calculations to support mechanical designs.
• Basic understanding of complementary technical disciplines.
• Able to work with other team members and with minimal supervision.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must possess good time management and organizational skills.
• Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate initiative.
• Must be proficient in the use of the computer for design and testing. CREO solid modeling or similar 3D package.
