Responsible for the Design and development of automotive alignment products. Including Quality improvements (Rapid Continuous Improvements) to existing products.
Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical design and development of new products or product enhancements for the automotive equipment industry. Must be able to work in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines and nationalities.
- Prepare thorough and accurate documentation for release to manufacturing and for internal product design records. Maintain an engineering notebook to document work activity in support of company\'s patent goals.
- Test and validate alignment products to assure good product performance and high standard of quality.
- Work with manufacturing and service personnel to resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products.
- Work with manufacturing engineering on Rapid Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce product cost and/or improve performance of designs.
- Develop a deep understanding of the company\'s products and their applications.
Qualifications
- BSME or BSMET degree. Preference with minimum 2 years design experience.
- Up to date knowledge in mechanical design. Including the design of plastic molded parts, metal castings, sheet metal, and assembly techniques.
- Capable of performing engineering analysis and other related calculations to support mechanical designs.
- Basic understanding of complementary technical disciplines.
- Able to work with other team members and with minimal supervision.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must possess good time management and organizational skills.
- Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate initiative.
- Must be proficient in the use of the computer for design and testing. CREO solid modeling or similar 3D package.
