Job Description

Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking an unlimited, full-time (1.0) Chemistry faculty member. The position supports the commitment of the chemistry department of Anoka-Ramsey Community College to providing a quality chemical education in a manner that is equitable and inclusive of all members of the Anoka-Ramsey community allowing them to pursue academic excellence in their program of choice and better understand the world around them.

The successful candidate will achieve this through teaching a variety of chemistry course offerings, participation in both division and college-wide committees, and engagement in content- and teaching-related professional development.

The candidate will complement the Chemistry Department’s strong collaborative commitment to innovative, student-centered teaching practices, creative ways to engage students in undergraduate research, and effective methods to promote success of diverse students, including with academic technology.

The candidate could expect assignment to evening and/or online course sections. This position may teach courses associated with both campuses in Cambridge and Coon Rapids, but the primary teaching responsibilities will be at the Coon Rapids location.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement:

  • Master's degree with a major in chemistry or

  • Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in chemistry

Preferred Qualification

  • Teaching experience, formal or informal, in chemistry or other science-related fields

  • Experience with or a strong interest in utilizing various student-centered teaching practices such as academic technologies, active learning, culturally-responsive teaching, and other methods to improve student success and reduce the equity gap

  • Demonstrated commitment to the success of diverse student populations, including multicultural, first-generation, non-native speakers of English, students with disabilities, and others

  • Experience with or a strong interest in engaging students in independent and/or course-based undergraduate research within the community college setting

  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with others, for example, within the classroom, department, and broader college community

SALARY & BENEFITS

Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303 -$94,592. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.

** Please note, Initial Step Placement is established by the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
