Maintenance Worker - General

(Maintenance)

JOB DIMENSIONS:

Job Summary:

Under moderate supervision, performs necessary care and maintenance of production offices, lunchrooms, and shop floors, paint, and perform related duties as assigned.

Reports to:

Maintenance Supervisor

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Places orders for replacement of sanitation and cleaning supplies;
• Replaces light bulbs and fixtures in production offices and lunch room;
• Cleans production offices including emptying trash containers;
• Cleans drinking fountains and sinks
• Cleans refrigerators and microwave ovens in production area;
• Paints preparation (scrape, brush, and prime);
• Paints inside and outside of buildings;
• Mops floors/cleans up spills; and
• Spot cleans carpets;
• Assists mechanics with daily responsibilities;
• Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
• Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations.

QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:

Experience/Training/Education:

Some experience in building or facilities maintenance work is desirable.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of industrial cleaners;
• Ability to understand and follow work instructions;
• Ability to organize and follow own work schedule; and
• Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, move, and carry tools and materials weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted; o. Lifting, moving, or carrying tools and materials weighing over 25 pounds requires assistance by a co-worker or lifting equipment;
• Ability to stretch, bend, and reach work areas;
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined; and
