ATI Quality Control Metallurgy Technician (2nd or 4th shift) in Cudahy, Wisconsin

We are currently seeking a Quality Control Metallurgy Technician for our Cudahy facility, a location vital to supplying advanced materials and components that are found in jet engines, aircraft, spacecraft and other key market segments. The person in this position willwork either 2nd shift (M-F, 3pm-11pm) or 4th shift (Sun night-Thurs night, 11pm-7am) following training on 1st shift.
Position Purpose
Acquires training in Metallurgical Technician occupation (i.e. Metallography, Mechanical Testing, and Chemical Lab).
Responsibilities
Learns routine chemical analytical determinations
Learns acid disposal processes in accordance with established procedures and directions involving records, maintenance, and housekeeping
Learns lubricant, coating or compound preparation according to established formulations or procedures.
Learns analytical control of chemical processes such as metal cleaning, or etching, applications of coatings, and others
Prepares metal specimens for metallographic evaluation by mounting and polishing
Moves material in MC Area maintaining necessary information from shop floor reports as required
Prepares spots as directed by plan or special investigation by mechanical and/or electropolishing; and applies appropriate etchants to develop for structural presentation
Replicates and shadows replicas as required
Sets up and operates testing equipment in accordance with work instruction
Uses various measuring devices such as scales, calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, optical comparators, temperature indicators, etc.
Records data and, under direction, prepares basic charts, tables, etc., dealing with test information
Coordinates testing in various Quality Department areas and/or at subcontract sources as directed by Supervisor
Monitors metal removal processes in Acid Etch as required by procedure
Performs related duties as assigned
Provides necessary support to ensure continued compliance to ISO 9002/AS9100A, Nadcap and ISO 17025 requirements.
