This job is a member of the Technical Operations Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
Responsible for designing and developing training programs using Instructional Systems Design principles in support of the American Airlines’ technical training program. Works collaboratively with training management, business customers, instructional staff and subject matter experts to understand customer training needs and create effective, skills based training solutions.
What you'll do
Creates and maintains internal communication platforms in the form of newsletters, bulletins, and dedicated applications
Produces, creates and edits product, reviews videos and other content for all of our platforms (Website, Web Based Training, Instructor Led Training)
Performs training needs assessments and analyzes results to determine training needs and performance gaps
Works collaboratively with a diverse team (department managers and supervisors, business representatives, subject matter experts, instructional staff, program developers) to research, design, develop and implement effective training solutions
Coordinates training development efforts to ensure consistency of training content across business teams
Utilizes end-to-end process analysis to ensure training needs of all impacted employees are considered
Establishes relationships with key business customers and stakeholders
Delivers innovative, customer focused products and services
Manages assigned projects and does what is necessary to ensure assigned projects are completed on schedule and to department standards
Provides timely status updates and reports on assigned projects and organizational performance to supervisor
Leads and motivates employees working as a team
Some travel is required
May be required to work rotating shifts, nights and weekends
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Training/Curriculum Development, Education, Organizational Development or a related field or equivalent experience/training
4 years curriculum development experience or related experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Master's degree in Instructional Systems Design, Training/Curriculium Development, Education, Organizational Development or a related field
Practical experience using ISD principles and the ADDIE process to include adult learning theories, interactive training and learning design, and e-learning design principles
Association for Talent Development (ATD) and Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification
Previous project management experience
FAA Airframe and PowerPlant certificate
ASTD CPLP certification
Working knowledge of FAA, OSHA, EPA and other governmental regulations pertaining to training
1 year of video production, including digital video recording, production, sound, and editing techniques
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) related to packaging and uploading training content
Ability to build interpersonal relationships and foster an environment of working together
Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities and projects
Proficient in MS Office, Macromedia and Adobe products
Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
