Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator

Location:Danbury and New Milford

Shift: All shifts

1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Summary

In the Packaging Machine Operator position, youll work closely with our Lead Packaging Machine Operator, Floor Supervisors and Factory Management team to ensure that LesserEvils Factory Operations are safe, running at optimal speed and producing top quality products. In this role you will be expected to run your assigned production line to achieve goals and produce high-quality (and delicious!) snacks.

The position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the safe operation of their assigned production line, focusing on high-quality product, GMP compliance and LesserEvils culture of Food Safety. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Fulfilling all requirements for pre-operational line inspection(s), including correct documentation and verification checks as needed.
• Managing the correct BPM on the production line.
• Overseeing quality of the product in alignment with the Processing Operator.
• Compliance to product specifications including: packaging/film, seal integrity, graphics alignment, etc.
• Verifying that case labels are correct and in compliance with product specifications.
• The overall organization and cleanliness of the packaging line.
• Safe and efficient operation of the packaging line at all times.
• Directing the packers and palletizers on their assigned packaging line tasks.
• Compliance to required quality and food safety checks such as hourly metal detection, data input and other actions as requested.
• Implementing corrective actions when product specifications are not met.
• Participating in equipment brush downs and deep cleaning activities as directed.
• Communicate with upper management to give feedback on operational issues and improvements.
• Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset.
• Performs other related duties as assigned and special projects as designated.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of factory production experience
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Ability to collaborate with different departments

Working Conditions

• Meeting standards of GMP/SQF
• Able to work safely in loud, automated machine intense areas.
• Able to work in conditions that may be loud, wet, and/or dusty from airborne particles
• Able to work in conditions with unregulated/varying temperatures
• Able to work in conditions where floors may be slippery due to environmental hazards (ex. raw materials overflow, splashing of water in sanitation area, etc.)
• Able to work in conditions where PPE may be required (Respirator, face mask, etc.)
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
• Climbing ladders and/or stairs.
• Comfortable working from a mezzanine with active machinery
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Able to bend, lift, pull, and push

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be willing to work in Danbury, CT
• Must have a reliable vehicle as daily trips between factory, warehouse, and office will be necessary
