Eaton Corporation Mechanical Engineer - Aerial Refueling (AAR) in Davenport, Iowa
Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Aerial Refueling (AAR). This role is based in Davenport, IA. Relocation assistance provided to eligible candidates.
The Mechanical Engineer will apply mechanical engineering disciplines and working knowledge to a range of product support and design improvement activities for the mechanical, electromechanical, and hydraulic components for aerial refueling product lines. The selected person has the responsibility to support activities for design, development, testing, and analysis on legacy products or improved product designs. The individual will be involved in supporting operations, field service, suppliers, and customer teams to troubleshoot and provide technical design support for legacy products or improved product designs.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year.

What you’ll do:
Maintains the design of legacy AAR products, processes and technologies
Provides production and field support for repairs, malfunctions, and other issues
Participates in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
Supports engineering tests as part of RCCA
Analyzes production and supplier nonconformances (NCs) and disposition for use, repair or scrap.
Creates, updates, and formally describes changes and improvements to 2D drawings, 3D CAD models and product Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs),
Provides innovative ideas for improvements to existing products
Provides help on developing project plans and development testing efforts for product design improvements
Performs stress/structural hand calculations
Performs tolerance stackup analysis
Participate in ideation for new products and technologies

Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET- accredited program (May 2025 Grads welcome to apply!)
Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related work/intern experience
Knowledge of CAD software such as Creo or Solid Works
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing proficiency
Mechanical and/or electrical testing experience
Structured and systematic problem solving techniques and DFSS
Skills:
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities in a rapidly changing environment a plus.
Attention to detail.
Ability to learn and apply new concepts.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate analytical problem solving
