MECHANICAL SERVICES & DESIGN, INC. Plumbing Foreman in Dayton, Ohio

MSD is looking for a Plumbing Foreman to join our team!

The Plumbing Foreman supervises plumbing team members (Journeymen and apprentices) during all phases of construction activities.  The Foreman assigns jobs in accordance with organizational, local, state, and federal guidelines.  The Plumbing Foreman ensures work is completed within budgetary constraints and follows all applicable safety procedures.  The Plumbing Foreman supports the total quality effort by identifying and responding to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.

 

Key Job Duties

  • Coordinates work location activities
  • Assigns, trains, and mentors subordinate personnel to perform on-site operations
  • Completes and inspects installation and/or removals of various plumbing equipment and work
  • Supervise team members in all aspects of construction plumbing operations
  • Coordinate with key internal and external personnel to establish job schedules and priorities
  • Communicate work schedules, job priorities, etc., to on-site personnel
  • Order materials and supplies to facilitate project completion
  • Conduct periodic/spot inspections of assigned projects
  • Complete and submit all required documentation
  • Ensure plumbing projects are completed in a timely, efficient manner
  • Coordinate with other departments/organizations to maintain established timelines
  • Ensure assigned Apprentices are receiving training appropriate to skill level

Candidate Requirements:

  • 5+ years' as a journeyman plumber (post-apprenticeship training)
  • Active licensure as city/ state/municipality - approved Journeyman
  • Completion of a state-sponsored Apprenticeship program preferred
  • Ability to comprehend complex written communications, such as blueprints, schematics, drawings, etc.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in written and verbal English
  • Desire to share knowledge with others
  • Possess the minimum tools to engage in trade practices
  • Advanced knowledge of Plumbing practices and procedures
  • Unencumbered US Driver's license
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required
