Position Summary Responsible for performing warehouse functions including, but not limited to, kitting production work orders, pack and prepare shipments for domestic/export and government orders, stocking finished goods, preparing material for interplant transfers, cycle counting, shipping/receiving functions on dock and material handling/distribution within the plant. Essential Job Functions Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures. Work area is kept neat and orderly. Daily 5S of workstation/work area at the end of shift. Participates in lean initiatives Provides support in other areas as needed. Ensures work orders are properly closed and stocked for inventory. Reviews/counts purchased goods and moves to warehouse stock location. Kit production work orders and move to appropriate manufacturing queue. Performs cycle count audits. Research discrepancies. Receive, store and issue products/materials. Adhere to cure date requirements, heat code requirements and serial numbers where specified. Follow specified material handling procedures. Prepare documents and product for source inspection. Filing is required. Performs numerous stock transactions in SAP. Move material throughout the warehouse as needed to support FIFO and optimize workflow. Review part specific packaging requirements to properly prepare material for shipment and verify for accuracy. Maintain proper levels of packaging material for upcoming shipments. Prepare bar code labels using bar code printer Load/unload trucks Pack, label and ship hazardous material as required. Apply rust preventative as needed to outgoing product. Prepare outbound freight for parcel/LTL pick-up. Receive incoming material and verify that the weight/count match the information on inbound documents. Report defective/questionable product to supervisor. Deliver items to and from appropriate departments or personnel as required. Move material for inbound/outbound shipments to proper staging areas which will include the use of a forklift or pallet jack. Ensures all required paperwork, labels and other documentation are prepared and accurate for all inbound and outbound shipments. Other assignments as required Qualifications Strong focus on safety and quality. Strong attention to organization, detail and accuracy. Mental and visual attention is required for counting, receiving, dispensing of stock, processing orders, packing, verification of part number, serial numbers, cute dates, etc. Continuous attention is required to prevent safety and quality issues. Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function in the warehouse as needed. Must be dependable and available to work overtime and extended hours on short notice as required. Able to communicate effectively with management/co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create and environment focused on positive teamwork. Self-motivated and ability to work efficiently with limited supervision
