Job Title: Welder/Fabricator

Job Description

This role is for a Welder - Fabricator who will be responsible for reading blueprints and welding for a structural steel fabrication company. The ideal candidate will have experience with Mig/Flux core/metal core welding, working with steel or metal, and be comfortable using technology like iPads.

Schedule & Pay

2nd shift , Monday through Friday: 3:00PM - 11:30PM. Must be open to working extended hours Monday - Thursday as the company aims to finish early on Fridays.

$17-23/hour , based on weld test results and experience.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

• Make welds that pass visual inspection, x-ray, or other nondestructive testing as required.

• Build all structural pieces according to the drawings and standards for each job.

• Layout, torch cut, grind, tack weld, and operate overhead cranes.

• Follow all work instructions given by the Production Supervisor and/or QC Inspector.

• Practice and participate in Lean Manufacturing Initiatives.

• Perform all work safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Experience with MIG welding and fabrication.

• Comfortable using iPads for reading blueprints.

• Experience with angle line, saw operation, and machine operation.

• Proficiency in Mig welding, flux core, and metal core welding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must be able to perform a MIG steel weld test per AWS code requirements (flux core, hard wire, and metal core).

• Ability to tack weld, torch cut accurately, gouge, and operate overhead cranes safely.

• Willingness to work overtime as workload allows.

Work Environment

The work is performed on-site at the fabrication facility. There is no remote or field work. The company promotes a family-based atmosphere with regular social events and ample paid time off. Openings are available for 2 positions on the 1st shift and 1 position on the 2nd shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Daytona Beach, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
