This position is located at our facility in De Pere, WI.
Job Summary:
As the EHS Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing both our plant and field safety programs across the country. Our standards are high, requiring strong knowledge of OSHA regulations as well as a proven track record of ensuring job site safety. As some of your time is spent in the field, the ideal candidate feels very comfortable navigating a construction site and managing the general contractor relationship from a safety perspective.
Duties and Expectations:
Jones Sign expects to have 'zero' safety recordables each year. You must implement and execute safety plans to continuously achieve zero safety recordable.
Set and communicate a clear, compelling safety vision that fosters the development of a safety culture
Support and teach through the process of incident investigations to determine root cause and short/long term countermeasures
Develop, implement and maintain safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and training requirements
Perform safety observations and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
Evaluates scope of work and creates safety plans for fabrication and installation projects per customer requirements
Influence and teach teams to understand the importance of and to be effective at 6S
Manage and submit the OSHA 300 log annually
Inspects job site hazards for safety, health and environmental risks
Leads proactive risk mitigation efforts
Instills a safety culture within the install team that carries through to each job site
Maintains inspection policies and schedules on equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations
Ensures compliance with DOT regulations, including driving records, fleet maintenance and inspections
Leads all accident investigations in the field, looking for ways to avoid future occurrences
Participates in safety inspections mandated on certain projects
Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science or related field
5 years EHS experience in construction, with knowledge in crane operation, rigging, excavation, confined spaces, health hazards, fall protection
Professional designation such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Associates Risk Management (ARM) preferred
Ability to work in a variety of indoor/outdoor environments, physically navigating construction sites
Availability to work out of town and stay overnight up to 25% of the time
