Advance ABA Care Behavior Technicians in Dearborn, Michigan

Behavior Technicians work under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or other qualified supervisor to provide therapy services to individuals with developmental disabilities, primarily autism spectrum disorder (ASD). They implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to improve social, communication, and adaptive skills while reducing challenging behaviors.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Therapeutic Support:

    • Deliver 1:1 therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
    • Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising BCBA.
    • Collect and record data on client progress and behaviors during sessions.
  2. Behavior Management:

    • Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors.
    • Address challenging behaviors following the guidelines of the behavior intervention plan.
  3. Skill Development:

    • Teach and support skill acquisition in areas such as communication, social interaction, daily living, and academic skills.
    • Facilitate play-based learning and group activities when applicable.
  4. Documentation and Communication:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed session notes and data records.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and caregivers regarding client progress and challenges.
  5. Collaboration:

    • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision with the BCBA.
    • Work closely with family members and caregivers to generalize skills across settings.
  6. Compliance:

    • Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
    • Follow organizational policies and HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
