Basic Job Functions:

Provide electrical support for Environmental department through troubleshooting, programming, maintenance, and installation. Help define and implement preventative maintenance protocol. Make decisions to ensure continuous operations of the mill. Manage continuous improvement projects. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Two years of experience in electrical maintenance. Equivalent electrical training or military experience will be considered.

  2. Knowledge of power distribution, motor control centers, instrumentation, automated systems, PLC and HMI programming, and drives troubleshooting in a manufacturing facility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Two-year degree in electrical maintenance technology and two or more years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance.

  2. Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and GE PLCs.

  3. Experience with Wonderware, WinCC, and other HMI systems.

  4. Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic principles.
