What you’ll be doing:
As a Truck Driver you will be responsible for and accountable for collecting and transporting donated merchandise while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
You will also be responsible for the following:
Successfully complete task outline assessments
Assist in loading/unloading of trailers
Responsible for securing truck/trailer loads at each stop prior to departure
Must be able to perform tasks according to work instructions
Maintain vehicles to agency standards
Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required
Comply with Goodwill of North Georgia’s safety and security policies and procedures
Maintain current Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) requirements
Ensure security of all company assets including merchandise and property
Follow all state driving laws including cell phone/texting laws.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
No experience required; however 1+ years experience is preferred
Current Georgia Commercial Drivers License (CDL) “Class A” license required.
Must have and maintain a valid Georgia issued drivers license while maintaining a good driving record and meeting the standards of the agency’s insurance carriers
Must pass Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) medical physical annually
Must have basic math and reading skills
Must have good oral and written communication skills in English as well as interpersonal skills
Working Environment Conditions/Requirements:
Must be able to meet all physical requirements to perform the duties of the position including the ability to bend, reach, grasp, stand, walk and/or drive for extended periods of time as well as the ability to push, pull and lift up to 30lbs with or without accommodation
Must be available to work Monday through Sunday during operating hours as needed for business operations
Must start employment in acceptable safety work shoes
